Gram-Cracker & Papa
My parents left yesterday after a nice 6-day visit. Ben coined a new name for my mom--Gram-Cracker. It kinda stuck and I like it! (Not sure if she likes it or not?!)
The weather was not very nice the entire time they were here, but we made due and kept ourselves entertained. On Saturday, mom and I went to a gardening class at Zamzows and then hit the mall. Nothing like shopping for bras together for a great bonding experience! Todd and Becca joined us for tacos later and we had a good visit. It was Becca's first time meeting my dad.
Sunday Jeff wowed them with his culinary skills by making Thai. Tuesday we took in the War Hawk Museum in Nampa--a great WWI and WWII (as well as some other war memorabilia) museum. I highly recommend a visit there is you have any interest at all in history.
Dad helped me trim some trees and we had a great time doing it in the rain. Now I just have to figure out a way to get all those branches tied up and out of my way. I wish we had a burn pile, but living in the suburbs, people frown on huge bonfires in the back yard!
I was sorry to see the folks take off yesterday. It was such a cold, wet, windy, miserable day. I got into a real funk. So, the boys and I decided to just hole up and watch movies. We LOVED "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." I fell asleep watching "Madagascar II" but the boys liked it.
I am waiting with baited breath for spring. If I can just hold on a few more weeks right? Think sun!
