Labor Day/Old Letters

We had a great Labor Day weekend last week. Friday we went to dinner/karaoke/pool with our good friends Eric and Jayna. Saturday we hung around the house playing with kids. They had a sleepover. Sunday we drove to Idaho City to see our friends from high school, Jeff and Heather McFrederick. We rode our motorcycles and had a cookout and some really fun conversation around the campfire! Monday we relaxed, I baked, and we just spent time together.

Last night, Jeff and I found 2 years worth of letters in an old trunk he had in Germany. The letters were from me and some from his family. Reading them was so funny and amazing because we knew back then what we wanted and we are living our fairy tale pretty much! We made it happen. The letters were full of our wants and desires for the future. I have to say, we've pretty much traveled the road we wanted to. Except for about 10 years during our 20's, we have made the journey we dreamed of making. A card I wrote to Jeff Christmas of 1989 quoted: This is the true measure of love, when we believe that we alone can love, that no one could have loved before us, and that no one will ever love in the same way after us." Goethe

Despite our family's misgivings and fears, we've weathered the years together!
